Get to know Carlos Corberán better
Review his career here: his training in Spain and his journey through Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, Greece and England.
In his Friday press conference before the game against Granada CF, Valencia CF coach Albert Celades fielded several questions about his side's form and the expectations for the match.
A run of two consecutive wins
"These two victories and the good spells of play that we have enjoyed up until now are things that we would like to repeat with more continuity. For example, the performance in the second half against LOSC Lille."
The atmosphere at Mestalla
"I think what happened the other day was an example of how we would like it to be, and it shows the importance of the fans to us. When they get behind the team and the players, everything is much easier for those who are out on the pitch and harder for the opposition. On the contrary, it's easier for the opposition and harder for us. I think that Tuesday was a clear example of the fact that, when we are all together, it's much simpler to achieve our aims."
"We're very grateful to the fans for the help that they give us. I hope that tomorrow we have another great atmosphere, because the game is very important if we want to get into a good position before the international break."
Granada's surprise season to date
"They are a newly promoted side, and they are doing a very good job. In their last game, had they won then they would have gone top. We're several games into the LaLiga season, not just 2 or 3, and they are still in the spots high up the table and playing good football. They are very organised defensively, but very daring when they go on the attack. I know their coach from his time in the Sevilla FC youth team, and he's very good; he has a lot of talent and speed available up top. They have a very high average for goals away from home, and they are going to provide us with many difficulties. They've had a very good start."
Ferran Torres in the Spain Under-21s
"I think that Ferran, just like Kang In, is very young still. The best thing to do is leave them alone and allow them to develop normally. There are fans who are very keen to see them, as they are talented and young, with a great future ahead of them, but the best way to make sure that future arrives is to not put excessive pressure on their shoulders. We need to keep consistent. It's a work in progress, but we are happy with both of them."
